We restored this large original wooden sign board for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the Hyson Green area of Nottingham. The board was taken away to our workshop where parts of the design were traced, the board was cleaned, sanded and allowed to dry out before being repaired and repainted using high build exterior paints to ensure that it would look great for many years to come. We then applied new hand painted lettering, a border and cross, parts of which were ‘surface’ gilded in 23.5 carat gold leaf. The finished board was then delivered and fitted back into position outside the church.
